Abstract

Visual arts have undergone profound transformations in recent de cades due to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies, raising significant questions regarding the concepts of originality and creativity in contemporary artistic production. This article aims to discuss the notions of originality and creativity in visual arts, trace the emergence and applications of artificial intelligence in artistic practice, and review major critical perspectives concerning the authenticity of Al-generated artworks. The study also examines the evolving relation ship between the artist and the machine and the redefinition of the creative process within human-algorithm collaboration. Through the analysis of selected Al-generated art works, the article explores their aesthetic and expressive characteristics and the extent within artistic intentionality is manifested within them. The study concludes that artificial intelligence constitutes a new creative tool that expands the possibilities of artistic practice; however, originality remains closely linked to the artist's role in conceptualizing ideas, directing the production. Process, and embedding cultural and conceptual meanings into the artwork.
